The decisive girl and the lush vegetation

 The first stop today is the O Ceadoiro. It is a restaurant bar which Google says is temporarily closed. It has a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OCeadoiro/ which says it is open. The most recent pictures are from 2021. They are fun and worth a look. Google reviews are as recent as a month a go. The tortilla seems highly recommended.


The modern road occasionally bypasses the old road. We are turning off it and pass a small rest area. [see photo]. Canal BMTV redskins says of it ‘Between Santa Irene and Pedrouzo there is a really beautiful stretch of the Camino de Santiago, full of eucalyptus trees and lush vegetation. Jose Antonio Bernal’ Mark is less kind ‘Rundown, small rest area in need of improvement. On Camíno de Santiago 21 kms to go!’


We are working through A Rua. The Alojamientos Rurales O Acivro offers us accommodation and a swimming pool. The restaurante looks rather fun. Post Christmas the reviews are wordlessly and low stared. Before Christmas Jordi says ‘Highly recommended, the girl at the reception was very decisive, the luxury apartment, the best we have been in all the way. Very good restaurant food and good price. We traveled with 2 dogs and we felt very comfortable, they even let us enter the restaurant with them. Thank you so much

We cross the Rio Porma and into Villarente and Puente Villarente. Mini Pieces of Supposed tuna

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park. One thing we noticed, especially with a small boy in tow, was the number of parks with interesting play equipment.  This is because, in Spain, people seem to like children.  This does make them a semi-public property and people feel free to indulge them with sweetmeats and pass comments. ‘I think sucking thumbs makes children look ugly’ said one elderly woman.’ My Spanish for ‘well desiccated prune face, no one asked you’ deserted me.  The play equipment is in the Plaza Pilarin Artigas.  Honestly I’ve looked and was giving u...
