Seasonal cafes are abounding

Steetview was taken in August 2023. We seem to be maxing out on pilgrims at the moment, Seasonal cafes are abounding. The first thing of note is the Cruceiro de Lameiros. It is a small cross, just off the road. Michael Behrens said ‘As you walk toward the cross, don't miss it, be sure to make a stop, say a prayer, add a shell or item. Many folks have left messages or memorial there, shells ribbons, et cetera. Buen Camino!’

The cross is just outside the village of Ligonde. I can’t find out much about the place other than Carlos I and Fellipe II both stayed there. The Alberque La Fuente del Peregino seems popular. Andres Torres-Cruz says ‘You have to visit this place. It is a unique and special experience.’. https://lafuentedelperegrino.com/en/ It is run by a Chrisitian organisation and offers some tips for the new pilgrim.

The Casa de Cota is a ore commercially minded place - but does offer a pool and air conditioning. The 27 reviews are overwhelmingly 5 stars. A month ago Jose wrote ‘Clean rooms, everything is new, the attention was 10, I would repeat without hesitation.’

We are ending the day at the Reitoral de Lestedo. https://rectoraldelestedo.com/

A mixed salad will set you back 8 euros; grilled cod 10. A standard room costs 100 euros a night. A month ago Jiyeon Park write ‘While walking on a winter pilgrimage at the end of December, I was surviving on just one sandwich for 7 hours when I came across this place!!! I am so, so thankful that they made me a sandwich and said it was possible..!! So far!!! I really love you the best’

As it is St David's day here is a link to the North Wales Pilgrim Way. https://britishpilgrimage.org/.../north-wales-pilgrims-way/#
