 We better make the most out of Hospital de Orbigo because once its gone its maize and tarmac for us.



We start at the Restaurante Flamingo CB. No website but an average 4.4 stars. Dan McA knows what they want and that is ‘Amazing food ! Only 10 euro for menu del dia. Big sized portions ! You will walk away full stomach 😊 …’ Two weeks ago Pelayo Ruiz Suarez added ‘Delicious, abundant food at a good price, it will take away customers from the one next door, valid for workers and for people with family or vacations. Fast service.’ They recommend the scollops.
From the sublime to the Hostal El Kanguro Australiano. It has 84 reviews. It averages 2.2 stars. Virtually all of the ones in the last year are one star. I recommend you read them for yourself.
Round the corner is the Estanco Passo Honroso tobacconist. It seems much more fondly remembered. A month ago Wilmer Jose Perez Yanez reckoned he ‘I like to visit places like this, where they treat you well and are very polite.’

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park. One thing we noticed, especially with a small boy in tow, was the number of parks with interesting play equipment.  This is because, in Spain, people seem to like children.  This does make them a semi-public property and people feel free to indulge them with sweetmeats and pass comments. ‘I think sucking thumbs makes children look ugly’ said one elderly woman.’ My Spanish for ‘well desiccated prune face, no one asked you’ deserted me.  The play equipment is in the Plaza Pilarin Artigas.  Honestly I’ve looked and was giving u...
