Sahagun - only 90 degrees out

One of the things I remember about Sahagun was the bloody great arch across the road. You can find a picture of it. We won’t go by it. Enjoy it now. We are skirting along the back streets.

Lets visit the English Language Centre. It has no google reviews and I can’t find a website. Might as well nip over the road to the San Facundo grill. It is also a hostal. http://www.hostallacodorniz.com/  A double room costs 55 euros. Breakfast is 6, lunch and dinner at 12.

We mentioned Alfonso VI a bit yesterday and he is honoured in a two star hotel. I can’t find the website. It gets a solid 4 stars from 154 reviews. Pablo isn’t so keen.

We stayed one night having booked in advance and saying the time of entry in the parking lot. What we found was a piece of paper with a message that said "call the phone...". We called and whoever picked up the phone told us "Now in two minutes I'll be there." Those minutes became twenty-seven. That after having walked more than forty kilometers in the day, the only thing we asked was that we could enter the room as soon as possible to shower and rest.
The room lacked cleanliness, as did the bathroom. The furniture was neglected and the mattresses on the beds were of a very low range, causing us to not be able to rest enough to face the next day on the road.
We will pass the Benedictine Monastery of Santa Cruz. It has a website. https://www.monasteriosantacruz.com/ It has merch. https://www.monasteriosantacruz.com/?post_type=product
So, loaded up with religious nicknackery and some glutten and lactose free cakes let us cross the Puente Canto and head towards Leon.

Today's local photo is of the swans on the reemerging Lake Humber.
