 We are passing along what counts for the coastal plain.  This stretch of the N-634 is like many, it has a few houses slowly clumping together to form a village.  





Our first port of call is the Rio Mayor Gerontological residence.  The website looks nice.  https://www.residenciariomayor.es/  The reviews are not.  Google reviews [12] average at 2,8 stars.   Three months ago Angela wrote ‘I can't say more than the good the best  Human and professional treatment in equal parts, unbeatable facilities  I can only say, thank you!’  Seven months ago SheraNacho said Very badly. Very disappointed. I do not recommend this nursing home. We have decided to remove a family member from this place due to mistrust, poor attention to the family member because the staff is very scarce, and lack of information about their health (many times they don't even answer the phone, and when they do they yell at you). For the money we have been paying it is not worth it nor does it measure up.’  Who knows? Go there and find out for yourself.




We need a bar and Bar Casa Marino   Riki is not impressed.  ‘If you are not from Real Madrid you cannot go to see a football match between F.C.Barcelona and R.Madrid because they eat you, they are very fanatical.’  I do wonder if this code for something.   Ten months ago Javier added ‘They no longer have a kitchen but I arrived at 3.30 and they gave me a tray of sausage and cheese, just what I needed to kill my hunger on a very hot day.’





Restaurante Casa Consuelo has a website.  https://www.casaconsuelo.es/  Yesterday Juan said ‘Traditional place for generations that continues to maintain a high standard’.  Bernadette was less impressed ‘Following the positive comments of several people we had lunch in this restaurant, friendly welcome, quite good restaurant, we tasted an Asturian specialty but the price remained high and a big surprise, my husband wanted to have a small digestive 18 €, that's excessive I won't go back and the prices are higher than in France!!!’



The church of San Bartolome de Otur attracts the sort of review you would expect.  Efren says ‘Don't pay attention to my assessment. It is the house of God and, God, cannot be valued and the people who administer it, I am not the one to value them.’  To be honest that is one of the more sensible ones.  No one has added detail to the Trip Advisor page. This could be your opportunity.






We end the day near a Galp service station.  It gets 4.2 stars.   If you want some niceness give them a 5 star review and they will reply with happy thoughts.  Eva said ‘The personnel is very friendly  And on top of that, it has a very adaptable diesel price for these bad times of crisis.’  She got in reply ‘Hello Eva! Thank you very much for your trust when refueling at our facilities. Your comments motivate us to continue working along these lines. It is a privilege for us to have clients like you! You have us for everything you need.’   M Carmen said ‘For me, it's fine that way’  She only got ‘Hello M. Carmen! Thank you very much for your trust when refueling at our facilities.   Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.
