Beware of Pirates

So let’s talk about the AS-12.  We could follow the road through the scattered houses in the valley but why do so when the AS-12 offers you speedy valley-side travel.

The AS-12 is 82.4km long, being the second longest of the Principality of Asturias’ road network. It is pipped to the post by the AS-15 [106km] but mocks the pretensions of the  AS-117 [65.3km].  One of the features of this road is the survival of the Manuel Pardo milestone.  I’ve included a photo. I can’t find much else. I assume it is not named after the American serial killer or the Bolivian soldier.

We are passing the Casa rural Mirador del Navia. It has 33 reviews and a five star rating - not a single non-5 exists..  https://miradordelnavia.com/ Paula said ‘Stay of 10 in a beautiful accommodation with many Celtic and Asturian details that make it stand out even more. The house offers all possible services and the owner is charming. He welcomed us with an assortment of sweets and some ciders, as well as plenty of firewood for the cozy fireplace. The views are also magnificent, as its name suggests, the windows of the home look towards the Navia River, allowing you to see a classic, unparalleled Asturian landscape.’

They clearly know about how to entertain here abouts. The Albergue de Serandinas gets 4.7 from 116 reviews. Two weeks ago Maria said ‘We did the Polea kayak route, without words… An incredible experience!! Kaly spreads her passion for nature, she is a source of wisdom. A pleasure to have been able to enjoy an afternoon with him. Thanks for everything!!! We will repeat for sure.👌🏾  Now, I understand not everyone can be happy.  A year ago three one star reviews popped up. Edu said ‘They are pirates, they deceive, especially Ivan.’  As always, we recommend you look for yourself, especially for jolly rogers.

We could visit the Iglesia de Santa Marina.  Eduardo was swayed by its charms. ‘Beautiful Church of the Asturian parish of Serandinas (Santa Marina de Serandinas) where Don Vicente was parish priest for many years, now Don Adan is (2018).’  https://www.iglesiadeasturias.org/parroquia/santa-marina-serandinas-boal/

Maybe it is time to move on.
